Your workflow belongs to you and the customer you choose.

Our single purpose

The extension records a workflow that an authorized Squared Away Assistant intentionally performs, converts that workflow into reusable instructions, and saves it to the explicitly selected customer’s private Squared Away Command Center.

We do not use recorded workflow data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, resale, or unrelated analytics.

What the extension handles

After an Assistant chooses a customer and presses Start recording, the extension may handle only the semantic information needed to explain that workflow:

• site origin and URL path, with query strings and fragments removed;
• page titles and visible labels for controls the Assistant uses;
• navigation, clicks, selections, safe form updates, and copy or paste intent;
• accessible roles, fallback selectors, click position, viewport size, and timestamps;
• the workflow name, intended outcome, selected customer, and recording status.

The extension does not capture screen video, screenshots, browser history outside an active recording, cookies, or network request contents.

What is always protected

Passwords, one-time codes, card numbers, security codes, access tokens, API keys, session identifiers, cookies, and other authentication values are withheld from the workflow. Chrome Password Manager and the browser’s existing signed-in session remain responsible for authentication.

Ordinary personal details and durable preferences are removed from the reusable trace. When useful to the chosen customer, they are encrypted as proposed Memory and do not guide future work until an authorized person reviews and confirms them.

How data is used and shared

When the Assistant stops recording, the extension sends the workflow over HTTPS to Squared Away Command. Command rechecks the Assistant’s active Squad membership before writing anything, sanitizes the trace again, and creates the customer’s recording, active Skill, and any proposed Memory.

Squared Away uses service providers only as necessary to operate and secure Command, including Cloudflare hosting and storage. The extension does not sell workflow data or transmit a recording to an AI provider as part of recording. An authorized user may later run or export the compiled Skill through a chosen AI workbench under that customer’s permissions.

Local and server storage

• In-progress recording data is kept in Chrome session storage and clears when the browser session ends.
• The extension keeps up to 30 recent local recordings for retry and export; durable local copies are scrubbed of protected values.
• A failed upload may retain its raw retry payload only in Chrome session storage until it succeeds or the browser session ends.
• Pairing keys expire after 90 days and are stored by Command only as protected fingerprints.
• Customer-scoped recordings and Skills remain in Command until an authorized customer or Squared Away administrator deletes them. Memory proposals remain until reviewed or deleted.

Your controls

• Nothing is recorded until the Assistant presses Start recording.
• With multiple Squad assignments, the Assistant must choose the customer before every recording.
• The customer cannot be changed during a recording and is reauthorized at save time.
• The Assistant can stop, disconnect, export, or clear the extension’s local data through Chrome.
• Consequential actions such as sending, booking, buying, or submitting remain approval-gated in compiled Skills.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Squared Away’s use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve the extension’s disclosed workflow-recording purpose, is never used for personalized advertising, and is not made available for humans to read except with specific user consent, for security, to comply with law, or in aggregated and anonymized form for internal operations.
